The Token
"The Blood shall be a Token for you. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, when I smite the land!"
Who is William Marrion Branham?
|
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: |
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. |
The above Scripture (Malachi 4:5 and 6) along with Revelations 10:7, are the ones I like to use to show that there was a prophet to come in the last days.
The scriptures along with the life of Bro
Branham, and his ministry
shows me that he was that prophet.
His life and ministry matched many of the prophets of the Bible, and of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He came to turn the heart of the children (the believes of the end time) to the hearts of the fathers. (the believers of the first church age of Ephesus)
He was sent to straighten out all the mixed up doctrines that have been developed over the last 2000 years, The Godhead, Baptism, Marriage and Divorce, etc... There were so many truths of the Word of God that had been made of non-effect, and people were just going to church without really knowing Jesus Christ himself.
We are not saying that those people were lost, for that is not the case. They believed, and lived all that they knew. Yet God promised to send a prophet just before the great and dreadful day, (judgment day). I believe it was Bro William Branham.
I was in a few of his meetings, and I heard him preach, I saw the Lord in him tell the secrets of the heart, as he did to Abraham. I saw the miracles done, as Christ did when he walked the earth and commanded His church to do. I have talked to the eyewitnesses and friends of Bro Branham that traveled, hunted, and fished with him and heard the stories of how God through that humble man told things that no one knew, (except God and the person).
The man was not God, rather it was God in the man. Not like you and I, for he was a God-Prophet like Moses...performing miracles and giving the Word of God to the people.
Like Elijah standing in the gap, bringing Gods Word to a few that really Loved God. Bringing thus saith the Lord, performing miracles, yet being disliked by the organized ministry.
Like John the Baptist declaring the day of the Lord is at hand, that the promised Son is soon to appear. Laying the axe to the root of the organized religious tree.
Like Jesus Christ, declaring the Fathers Kingdom,
bringing the Word, knowing the secrets of the heart, Showing the sign of Moses,
(a sign in the hand) controlling the elements...i.e.: calming the storm, etc.
Showing Love even when hated.
Like the Apostle Paul, sent to the Gentiles to begin the calling of a Bride for Jesus Christ, He (Bro Branham) was sent to finish the call to the last of the 7 church ages.

"Five hundred walking into the river yonder, the first day the Angel of the Lord appeared visible to vindicate like He did on Mount Sinai, that I'd met Him. I walked into the river and hundreds singing that same song for the baptism. Here He comes descending, that same Pillar of Fire that you see the picture there, descending down right down here at the river, and said, "As John the Baptist was sent to forerun His first coming, message will forerun the second coming."

THE
PILLAR OF
FIRE PHOTOGRAPHED
In Houston, Texas, in January of 1950, an amazing
photograph was taken by the Douglas Studios. In the photograph, there appeared a
halo-like Light above the head of Rev. William Branham. The negative was taken
to George
J. Lacy, Examiner of Questioned Documents for the FBI. His department
was asked to determine whether or not the light could have been the result of
improper exposure, developing or retouching. This investigation served to
completely authenticate the fact that the unusual brightness was definitely
caused by a light striking the negative. Mr. Lacy was quoted as saying,
"Rev. Branham, you will die like all other mortals, but as long as there
is a Christian civilization, your picture will live on."
It was January 1950. The place was Houston, Texas, USA; and God, would once again confirm and vindicate the life and Ministry of His Servant and Prophet to this end-time Age. Brother Branham had only recently returned to the Evangelistic field after having put in almost three years of continuous ministry of the supernatural which had wore him down physical and emotionally. He was forced to take a few months of rest to recuperate physically and emotionally. Many were praying for his return to the Evangelistic field. And if there was any question as to whether or not God was still with His Servant, this would be answered during the Houston Meetings.
The meetings started a little slowly. However, before it was over some very remarkable things had transpired. It became apparent that the Lord had returned His servant to the field with an even greater Anointing. This time he came not only with the 'sign' in his hand and commanding power over devils, but NOW the very 'secrets' of the heart were revealed. A new manifestation was evident before the eyes of the people. Brother Branham had entered, what he would later learn to be the Second Pull (Phase) of a Ministry which would come to it's final climax in a Third Pull (or phase).
In this "Second Pull" the very "thoughts and intents" (Heb. 4:12) of the hearts of the people were revealed - the past, the present and the future; And NOT ONE TIME did it fail. The People of Houston were blessed to have seen the manifestation of the "Messiah Sign", revealing the Son of Man, fulfilling Luke 17:30: "Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.". God was doing through this ministry EXACTLY as He had done in the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ 2000 years ago (John 4:25-26).
In the prayer lines, Brother Branham, under the anointing would tell the people of their past life which would greatly encourage their faith, so that in many instances they would be healed without one word of prayer. On the other hand, those who had slipped into the prayer line without seeking right relations with God, or who were living careless backslidden lives, and had committed sins which had not been sincerely confessed to God, these were dealt with by the Spirit of God, right on the platform. Sins would be called out, secrets of their hearts revealed, and in practically every instance individuals so dealt with would immediately make a broken and tearful confession. Usually then, the person would receive healing on the spot.
Still, there were the sceptics, who, regardless of the "Scriptural" signs performed, would not acknowledge that it was God fulfilling His promised Word. Putting their denominational creed above the Word of God they "challenged" the healing and supernatural working power of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we shall see God supernaturally came on the scene and responded to their challenge - Praise the Lord!
----------------------------------------
It was about midway in the Houston campaign in 1950, and God was moving in a very powerful way. None could deny that there was an element of the Supernatural moving in the Sam Houston Coliseum. Most were convinced that it was Almighty God, but a few were skeptical.
One of the skeptics was Rev. W. E. Best who opposed Divine healing and became hostile against Bro. Branham and a Rev. F. F. Bosworth (who spoke during many of the day services) teaching on the subject of Divine Healing. The hostile clergyman issued a public challenge through the newspapers, to debate with Rev. Bosworth on the subject of "Divine Healing Through the Atonement." Rev. Bosworth ask and received Bro. Branham's permission to accept the challenge. He cautioned Brother Bosworth against being arguementive over the Word. The whole matter was given front-page publicity in the Houston newspapers. The January 24th., 1950 issue of The Houston Press hit the news stands with the headline: "Baptist Cleric To Challenge 'Miracle Man'".
On the evening appointed as the meeting got under way, it was quite apparent that the sympathy of the vast audience was almost entirely on the side of the visiting evangelists. Large numbers of the members of the very denomination of the opposing clergyman, stood to their feet as witnesses that they believed in Divine healing and had in fact been healed. This sentiment became increasingly evident throughout the service.
To record what he thought would be a great milestone in his career, the opposing clergyman secured the services of Mr. James Ayers and Mr. Ted Kipperman, professional photographers. They were to take a series of pictures of him while he was speaking. After taking several photos of Rev. W. E. Best the photographer snapped only one picture of Rev. Branham, who spoke briefly just before the service closed.
Immediately following the meeting Mr. Ayers, one of the photographers, went that same night to the darkroom of his studio to develop the negatives that had been exposed. To his surprise every one of the negatives turned out to be absolutely blank with the exception of the one which had been taken of Rev. Branham. His surprise turned to amazement when he noticed that on this negative, immediately over the head of Rev. Branham, was apparently a supernatural halo of Light. Mr. Ayers called the others of the studio to look at the negative; but when they did so, each was equally puzzled and no one could explain the presence of this halo.
The following morning the photographer sent word to Rev. Branham to inform him of the strange phenomenon that had occurred in connection with the photograph he had taken the night before. Brother Branham then explained to the young man that he was not greatly surprised. He testified that just before the picture was taken he heard the Pillar of Fire descend into the building with a sound of rushing wind. Of course this wasn't the first time for something like this to happen in our Brother's Ministry.
For example, while at Camden, Arkansas, a photographer had snapped a picture of him and when the film was developed it was found that a strange light encircled him, which, the photographer pointed out, could not be accounted for by the lights in the building. Many other such things had occurred in his ministry. The photograph taken at Houston was without a doubt the most outstanding and spectacular of these supernatural manifestations, because of the unique circumstances under which the photograph had been taken.

Who Was William Marrion Branham?
|
William Marrion Branham was one of the most influential Bible ministers of our time. He was considered by many to be the initiator of the healing and charismatic revival that began in 1947, and from his ministry there sprang a myriad of other ministers who became internationally known. One Historian of that movement stated that William Branham was "a prophet to our generation", and a Pentecostal Historian wrote, "Branham filled the largest stadiums and meeting halls in the world." The Full Gospel Men's Voice, (now, Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International), in its February 1961 issue, wrote: "In Bible Days, there were men of God who were Prophets and Seers. But in all the Sacred Records, none of these had a greater ministry than that of William Branham, a Prophet and Seer of God, whose photograph appears on the front cover of this issue of Full Gospel Men's Voice. Branham has been used by God, in the Name of Jesus, to raise the dead!" From 1947 until the time of his passing in 1965, the powerful ministry of William Branham was well known and considered unparalleled in the history of gospel meetings. The impact of the supernatural ministry of this one man was felt not only in North America, but also around the world.

Early
Life And Conversion
William Branham was born April
6, 1909 in a log cabin in the Kentucky hills, the first of nine children of
Charles and Ella Branham. Reared near Jeffersonville, Indiana, he knew only a
life of deep poverty and hardship, his father being alcoholic and illiterate.
Compounding these circumstances, the young boy was considered
"nervous", because from an early age he spoke of "visions"
and "a voice" which spoke to him out of a wind, saying, "Don't
ever drink, or smoke, or defile your body in any way. There will be a work for
you to do when you get older."
William
Branham came to know the Lord and was filled with the Holy Spirit in 1931. From
that time, the Bible became the focus of his life and Jesus Christ the center of
his very existence! He was ordained to the ministry at the age of 23 years, in
the Missionary Baptist Church in December of 1932.
Visitations
Of An Angel
On June 11, 1933, William
Branham was baptizing in the Ohio River near Jeffersonville, Indiana, when a
bright fiery light suddenly appeared over his head and a voice spoke out,
"As John the Baptist was sent to forerun the first coming of Jesus Christ,
so are you sent to forerun His second coming!" The next edition of the
Jeffersonville Evening News reported the incident with the subheading, "Mysterious
Star Appears Over Minister While Baptizing".
In
May of 1946, he set himself aside to seek God for the meaning of his strange
life. As he prayed alone late one night, an angel of light appeared, saying,
"Do not fear. I am sent from the presence of Almighty God to tell you that
your peculiar birth and misunderstood life has been to indicate that you are to
take a gift of Divine healing to the peoples of the world. If you will be
sincere when you pray and can get the people to believe you, nothing shall stand
before your prayer, not even cancer. You will go into many parts of the earth
and will pray for kings and rulers and potentates. You will preach to multitudes
the world over and thousands will come to you for counsel." This was
literally fulfilled in the years that followed, for his ministry took him around
the world seven times and many individuals of public influence, including
Congressman Upshaw of the U.S.A. and King George VI of England, were healed as a
result of his prayers.
Worldwide Ministry
As news spread of miraculous
healings, pastors from all around began to call Bro. William Branham to minister
for their congregations and pray for the sick. A supernatural sign had been
given him for the purpose of encouraging the people to believe. Firstly, a
physical sign in his hand would indicate a disease or healing. Later on in his
ministry the secret thoughts and needs of individuals were revealed, resulting
in faith for deliverance. It became abundantly clear to any serious Bible
reader, that William Branham was ordained a Prophet to fulfill the many
scriptural prophecies concerning our time.
Churches
could not accommodate the crowds, and the meetings moved to large auditoriums or
stadiums for united campaigns in the major cities of North America.
Jonesboro, Arkansas - "Evening Sun" Newspaper June 12, 1947.
"Residents of at least 25
States and Mexico have visited Jonesboro since Rev. Branham opened the camp
meeting, June 1st. The total attendance for the services is likely to surpass
the 20,000 mark."
Helsinki, Finland - 1950
Two years prior to the Helsinki
campaign, God had shown Bro. Branham a vision of a boy being raised from the
dead. He related the details to his audiences and asked them to write the vision
in the flyleaf of their Bibles. The vision was fulfilled at the scene of an
accident, near Kuopio, Finland, where a boy on a bicycle had been struck by a
car and killed. The Branham party traveling in a motorcade came upon the scene
and Brother Branham, asking that the sheet covering the body be removed,
recognized the boy to be the same one he had seen in the vision. He prayed and
the child was raised from the dead.
Durban, South Africa - 1951
Meetings were sponsored by The Apostolic Faith Mission, the Assemblies of God, the Pentecostal Holiness and the Full Gospel Church of God and conducted in eleven cities, with a combined attendance of a half a million people! Church history was made on the final day of the Durban meetings, held at the Greyville Racecourse, where an estimated 45,000 people were in attendance and thousands more turned away at the gates!
After seeing the Power of God manifested through Bro Branham thirty thousand raw heathens come to Christ at one altar call. 100,000 were converted with 30,000 at the altar at one time.
It was when they seen the power of the Lord God through Bro Branham who took an insane demon possessed man who could only crawl on his hands and feet with a chain around his neck and in one moment's time made him a perfectly normal and whole and thirty thousand people surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ at the altar at one time.
And the next morning while he was setting in the hotel, the mayor of the city, Sidney Smith had been down to see him about the meetings to show him what was next. They then heard something coming down the street and there was seven big cattle truck loads of wheelchairs and crutches, and sticks and clubs, and cots that they had picked up on the field and loaded them unto these trucks.
There was twenty-five thousand miracles performed at one time immediately after all of them them came to Christ. Twenty-five thousand cripples, blind and twisted. And the next morning they were going down the street in a great long parade with the police leading it, and these big trucks were piled up running over the top with wheelchairs, cots, stretchers, clubs. And the people walking behind from fifteen different tribes walking behind the trucks who were in those cots and stretchers the day before, with their hands in the air, singing in their native language, "All Things Are Possible, Only Believe."
This is all documented in the headlines of the South Africa newspapers and with most of their doctors to be the truth.
That's just the beginning of the mighty works this generation has seen our Lord perform through His prophet.
Is This Ministry A Fulfillment Of Prophecy?
Surely
the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the
prophets. Amos 3:7
God's
pattern of dealing with His people has always included the sending of prophets.
The prophet Amos informs us that God does "nothing" without a
prophetic forerunner, and even a surface study of scriptural history will
uncover this to be exactly as stated. Seldom was there a prophet who spoke the
words of God who was not greeted with skepticism, rejection and abuse!
Consider
these scriptures:
Malachi
4:5-6 promises a prophet that will forerun the second coming of Christ and
"turn the hearts of the children to their fathers.." Literally, a
ministry that will turn the hearts of a backslidden generation back to the Word
of God and the faith of our "early church" fathers before the
"dreadful day of the Lord", the second coming of Christ in judgment.
Matthew
17:10-12 has a two-fold meaning.
Firstly, "Why then say the scribes that Elias must
first come?" "… But I say unto you,
That Elias is come already and they knew him not …" speaking of
John the Baptist. Secondly, "And Jesus answered and
said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things."
Speaking of a future forerunner to precede Christ's second coming.
The
ministry of William Branham involved three distinct stages that he referred to
as "pulls". The First Pull: Healing. Second Pull: Prophesying. Third
Pull: The opening or revealing of the Word of God.
The
ministry of Jesus Christ followed exactly the same pattern. First Pull:
multitudes flocked to hear his gracious words and to receive His miraculous
healing touch. Second Pull: Revealed the secrets of the hearts. (John 4:17-18)
Third Pull: His "message", the Word of God which came in strength and
contrary to the religious order of the day, caused the multitudes to leave him.
"From
that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."
John. 6:66
"From
that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."
John. 6:66

In
December 1962 God gave William Branham a vision of an angelic visitation which
he foretold in a message "Sirs is this the Time?" On February
28, 1963, the vision and prophecy was fulfilled when a constellation of seven
angels, formed as the head of Christ, met him with a commission to speak the
opening of the Seven Seals of Revelation. Life Magazine (May 17th 1963) carried
the photograph (left figure) of this supernatural event, describing it as a
"Mystery Cloud over Arizona."
To
the millions of believers around the world who have heard and received the
Message which God has sent through His prophet, William Branham, the Word of God
has opened up as never before in history. Jesus Christ has come into plain view
through the pages of revealed scripture. World events no longer cause alarm, for
all is unfolding as it should, fulfilling Bible prophecy!
Those in Berea, after receiving Paul and Silas, set forth an example that would still serve us well today…
Acts 17:11
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the
word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether
those things were so. "
